Qualifications

Here is what Luke has to say;

Before commencing my career in the world of Quantity Surveying in 2003 I attended Barnsley College and undertook a Construction and the Built Environment BTEC, which gave me an insight into the variety of routes that could be taken in the Technical side to the Construction Industry, this was a full time course at College.

Successfully completing the course at Barnsley College I then enrolled onto a HND in Building Studies at Sheffield Hallam University which gave a more advanced insight into what the Barnsley College Course did, at this point I made the decision to go down the route to Train as a Quantity Surveyor.

Now successfully completing the HND, I enrolled in 2007 onto the BSc Hons in Quantity Surveying at Sheffield Hallam Univeristy part time, with the dedication to finding a company whom was looking for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to train up. In 2008 I succesfully was employed by Henry Boot Construction throughout my Degree. I personally feel working whilst training gave me the maximum benefit as what im learning at Uni could be put into practice, and oniste practical lessons could be transvered into the classroom and in assignments. I graduated with a 2:1 2010.

Working then as a QS for a variety of Companies in a variety of sectors, I started having a keen interest into the Contracts themselves, the technicalities associated with the English Law systems, and disputes and Claims.Whilst working as a QS for Aggregate industries managing the £40 Million Pound NEC2 Subcontract on the A1 motorway I enrolled in 2015 onto a two year part time LLM Construction Law and Practice course at Salford University. In 2017 I very proudly passed this course with a merit.
